Are we all going to keep our names?

Answered By: G

As anyone with any experience in modern America knows, the issue of what to do with names after marriage is contentious. C and I had some brief debates about it. I suggested that we take each other's last names as second middle names, as some friends of mine had done previously. C wanted none of that, which was fine by me. Less hassle in changing social security cards, licenses, etc. So we're keeping our names.

In B and J's case, in B's telling of the story, there was a bit more contention. There was some discussion of creating a new family name, which did not pan out. If you ask them, I'm sure they'd be happy to fill in the details!

As a collective name, PLAB kind of sucks. Plus, I think that adopting a new last name verges on cult-like behaviour at this point. We're not Melchizedeks after all.
